IUI, IVF and ICSI Treatment

IUI IVF ICSI Treatment.jpeg

P4 Fertility in partnership with Priory Fertility Centre Birmingham (P4fertility@Priory) offers a range of fertility treatments including IUI, IVF and ICSI.

This service is bespoke. Every couple will have an in-depth consultation and plan for treatment. We offer personalised treatment plans to cater individual needs of each couple.

IUI (Intra-uterine Insemination or artificial insemination) is a type of fertility treatment. It’s commonly used by people who are using donated sperm in their treatment, including single women and female couples. It can also be used by some heterosexual couples. In IUI, better quality sperm are separated from sperm that are sluggish, non-moving or abnormally shaped. These sperm are then injected directly into the womb. Meeting of egg and sperm (fertilization) occurs naturally in IUI. The resultant embryo may get attached to the lining of the womb and successfully continues as pregnancy same way as it happens naturally.

IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) IVF is a type of fertility treatment where fertilisation takes place outside of the body. At P4 fertility, we personalise your IVF cycle based on P4 fertility principles. Key steps of IVF are 1. Injections given to the woman to stimulate her ovaries to make more eggs, 2 Eggs are collected by putting you to sleep, 3. Eggs are fertilized outside in the laboratory using your partner’s sperms 4. Embryos which are formed from the meeting of eggs and sperms are developed in high standard laboratory 5. A top-quality embryo is transferred in your womb, it has done like a smear test plus some additional steps. It does not require anesthesia. 6 you are given hormonal support and pregnancy test is advised in two weeks.

ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm injection) is an advanced step in IVF. In ICSI a sperm is injected inside the egg using a microscopic needle. Please see the process at Link. ICSI is the treatment of choice for sperm problems. But it could be also used in some other indications. At p4 fertility, we personalise the treatment based on your individual needs. We analyse whether IVF or ICSI is suitable for you. Sometimes we use a 50-50 approach where 50% of your eggs are allowed to fertilize with IVF and 50% of your eggs are used to perform ICSI. A delicate balance to achieve the best of both worlds! Link to ICSI

Priory Fertility centre is constantly rated as a high standard service by our patients and regulatory authorities.

  • Established in 1989- one of the oldest centres in the West-Midland with In-depth experience acquired over the decades.

  • Personalised care:  you are not treated as a number and not put on a conveyor belt. We have a team to look after you are providing personalised care. You get named secretary to contact throughout your journey with us, our patients find it very reassuring.

  • A consultant-led service every step:  Unlike many private clinics, we do not have doctors at Priory who are not GMC registered consultants.

  • Seven days a week service: We collect eggs when they are ready and put the embryo back when it is a good time. This means to provide seven days with a week service. So be it. Many new private clinics only provide service (such as egg collection) on a few days in the week to cut the cost and maximise the profit. Our ethos is to follow what suits the best for nature and patients than what suits the clinic. This may be the secret of our success.

  • Multi-disciplinary support team: Another key asset is a team of dedicated professionals working with us for decades.

  • Full range service at a fully equipped hospital: BMI priory is one of the top private hospitals in the country with experts available in all fields. We have the support of the Intensive Care Unit, High dependency Unit. We are equipped to handle any emergency and any patient with a complex medical history. Our anaesthetists are experienced to manage various conditions. The safety of your care is a top priority at the priory.

  • Latest technology:  We have introduced various IVF technologies first time in the West-Midlands in the private sector.

  • No add-ons:  We do not support the use of any add-on to improve the success of IVF. This policy is compliant with the HFEA (Regulating body) statement on add ons (Link- https://www.hfea.gov.uk/media/2792/treatment-add-ons-consensus-statement-final.pdf). Add-ons are various procedures or products sold by some of the private IVF clinics to the couples without any evidence to support it. It adds a cost burden without success. At P4 fertility we follow the HFEA guidance.

  • Competitive Cost:  We are clear and honest about the costing at the start of your journey and there are no hidden charges.

The generic charges for treatment can be found below. The price will vary depending on medical needs, so this should be only a guide. Individual costing will be discussed with you if you decide to have treatment at our clinic and will also be laid out in the costed treatment
